About King David's Tent

Our Purpose and Vision

We encourage the restoration of hearts back to God.

King David's Tent is a mission movement that facilitates a Christ-centred and Spirit-led community where we encourage and equip believers to know and experience God and to take up the call to go and reveal His love and transformational power to their families, communities and to the nations.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit - Matthew 28:19

We love to help and encourage people to know and experience God (His intimate presence, love and transformative power) and see hearts restored back to Him. We encourage and equip believers through Christ-centred, Holy Spirit empowered community and discipleship, encouraging them to answer the call of Christ to go and be a light in the darkness and to walk in their calling and purpose through empowered discipleship.

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few.  Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.” - Matthew 9:37–38

The vision laid on our hearts is to facilitate a gathering place for restoring people's hearts back to God. We see the need to build around agricultural land on a Kibuttz model and felt God highlight George - South Africa. The facilities are for equipping workers for the harvest, a place of rest for the weary (especially missionaries , pastors and families), and facilitating a learning centre for education and community transformation, where we can send out kingdom minded believers into any of the Seven Mountains of society. We support initiatives of like minded people, especially to help reach the poor, destitute and the vulnerable.  This includes compassion ministries and practical serving and support.

He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ - Acts 13:22.

Partnership

Farming God's Way Logo

King David's Tent is a multi-generational, non-denominational missions movement, working with like-minded organisations who want to see transformation and reformation in their families, communities and the nations. We facilitate and host churches, ministries, groups, youth, conferences, retreats, events and programs. We believe that faith-based sustainability projects are a key to the future of missions. We have connected with Farming God's Way to offer agricultural training to individuals, communities and organisations. Teaching people to grow food, is a fundamental step in addressing poverty in Africa.

We partner with like-minded churches, ministries, mission organisations, and local communities to:

  • Encourage each other and to build unity so that we can be more effective together in reaching the harvest
  • To experience the diversity of gifts and cultures, as a key to growing in maturity and to help train, equip and facilitate our vision
  • To support existing missions and needs first (where possible) by sending out equipped people to help
  • Networking and creating awareness of what the needs are and who is serving in our communities
  • Breaking down the silo mentality of missions and local churches, to encourage and support transformation. Together we are stronger. We are advocates for unity beyond the local church.
